Prayers of the People for Pentecost 12 / Ordinary 19

Trusting the promise that God will hear our prayers, we offer our concern for the world God loves, the Church God calls, and all people according to their needs, saying, “Hear us, O God,” and responding, “Your mercy is great.

[Brief pause]

God of life, you call us to be your people, to serve in your name, to give without fear.  Help us live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

God of life, you call us to live our relationship with you by living in relationship with your whole creation.  Help us live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

God of life, you call us to reach past divisions and boundaries, confident that no one is beyond your care and compassion.  Help us live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

God of life, you call us to let go of our self-centered plans, our self-seeking ways, our self-interested interactions.  Help us live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

God of life, you call us to touch the sick, the hungry, the unemployed and the foreigner with your welcoming love.  Use us to bring healing to those we name before you.
[Long pause]
Help us live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

God of life, guide us in all we do, all we think, all we are, so we may live fully into your reign.  Hear us, O God,
Your mercy is great.

We offer these spoken prayers, as well as those offered in the silence of our hearts, to you, O God, in the name of Jesus, the Christ.
Amen.
