Prayers of the People for Pentecost 22 / Ordinary 29

As God has promised to walk with us, God has also promised to hear us.  So we pray for all who need our prayers, saying, “We pray in hope,” and respond, “Make all things new.”

[Brief pause]

Inspiring God, you blow through your whole creation, bringing life, meaning and purpose.  Open our eyes to see, and our ears to hear.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

Inspiring God, fill your people with the sense of your presence, that all we say, do and are, will reflect your love.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

Inspiring God, free us from clinging to a too comfortable past.  Free us from fearing an undefined future.  Free us to embrace the ambiguous “now,” trusting that this is where you are.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

Inspiring God, wake us up.  Show us the situations around us which display your presence.  Show us the people around us with whom we can serve.  Show us the next step in our journey.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

Inspiring God, we thank you for moving through people who bring healing, relief and comfort to those who have fallen through the cracks.  We pray for those who need our prayers, as well as those who care for them.
[Long pause]
We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

Inspiring God, inspire us, that we may be a blessing in this world that you love.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

We offer these spoken prayers, our silent prayers, and the prayers for which we have no words, to you, loving God, in the name of our brother Jesus.
Amen.
