Prayers of the People for All Saints Sunday

We pray with all the people of God throughout the ages, saying, “We pray in hope,” and responding, “Make all things new.”

[Pause]

In thanks for all who have walked the earth before us, who received God’s blessings with thanks, and who guided us along the way, we pray in hope,
Make all things new.

In thanks for all who walk through life with us today, who share their gratitude and remind us of the source of all good, we pray in hope,
Make all things new.

In thanks for those who have died in faith, who pointed us to the grace which surrounds us, and whom we remember today, especially [names of those who have died in the faith in the last year, and other individuals may be named as well], we pray in hope,
Make all things new.

In thanks for the promise that all the earth will be renewed, and for those who remind us of our responsibility toward those who will come after us, we pray in hope,
Make all things new.

In thanks for your promise that you abandon no one: not the orphan, not the abused, not the addict, not the sick, nor those we name before you.  [Long pause]  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

In thanks for those who spend their lives making peace, bringing reconciliation, and providing hope, and praying that we would be numbered among them, we pray in hope,
Make all things new.

We offer these spoken prayers, our silent prayers, and the prayers for which we have no words, to you, loving God, in the name of our brother Jesus.
Amen.
