Prayers of the People for Pentecost 25 / Ordinary 32

We pray with all the people of God throughout the ages, saying, “We pray in hope,” and responding, “Make all things new.”

[Pause]

God of the dead, God of the living, you make us alive with Christ.  Enable us to embrace the mystery of life in you.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

God of the dead, God of the living, not even death separates us from your love.  Teach us to let go of our fear.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

God of the dead, God of the living, you call us to a new kind of life.  Open us to fresh understandings and innovative responses.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

God of the dead, God of the living, even our enemies are not dead to you.  Strengthen our desire to welcome all.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

God of the dead, God of the living, you are with us in all of our valleys.  Use us to share your healing concern with those whom we name before you.
[Long pause]
We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

God of the dead, God of the living, make us alive with Christ, that we may live for the world.  We pray in hope,
Make all things new.

We offer these spoken prayers, our silent prayers, and the prayers for which we have no words, to you, loving God, in the name of our brother Jesus.
Amen.
