Prayers of the People for the Fifth Sunday in Lent, 2015

God has joined us in our journey of life. Trusting that presence, we offer our prayers for the world God loves, the church God calls, and all people in any need.

[Short pause]

Loving God, your church wants to see Jesus. Open the eyes of all your people to see you in the smallest corners of life. [Pause] God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

Loving God, this congregation wants to see Jesus. Open us to your presence, that together we may become more aware of your love for us. [Pause] God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

Loving God, the individuals gathered here want to see Jesus. Remove the blinders that we have created, so we may see you more clearly. [Pause] God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

Loving God, the people of [THIS COMMUNITY] want to see Jesus. Enable your people to be more authentic in living out your promise. [Pause] God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

Loving God, those who are hurting want to see Jesus. Motivate us to reach out to the sick, the shut-in, the under-employed, the stranger, the different, the addicted, and all who need a welcoming touch. We especially pray for [NAMES, AND] all those we name before you.
[Pause]
God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

Loving God, we want to see Jesus. Loving God, we want to show Jesus. Remind us that, in spite of our failures, you are showing your love to the world. [Pause] God who speaks in silence,
Come to us. Come through us.

We pray all this in the name of our Saviour, our companion and our guide, Jesus the Christ. Amen.
