Prayers of the People for the Second Sunday of Easter, 2015

Celebrating the mystery of new life in Christ, we pray for the world God loves, the church God calls, and all people in any need.

[Short pause]

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For the doubt which comes with our faith, for the faith which is seasoned with doubt, and for your presence in it all, we give our thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For the witness of those who have brought us to today, for the truth they proclaimed, for the love they showed, and for the weakness they accepted as part of the package, we give our thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For the chances we have been given to share new life, for the people around us, and for the Call which is renewed every day, we give our thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For the life-giving presence of the Spirit in the middle of our doubts, in the middle of our difficulties, in the middle of our challenges, in the middle of our community, we give our thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For the promise of love and final healing for those who are sick, in distress, oppressed, marginalized, alone, separated, especially [NAMES, AND] those we name before you [LONG PAUSE], we give you thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! For calling us to share in the blessings of the new life you bring, for the ability to respond which we have been given, and for the hope that we can touch others with the love we have received, we give our thanks. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

We pray all this in the name of our risen Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
 Amen.
