Prayers of the People for the Third Sunday of Easter, 2015

Celebrating the mystery of new life in Christ, we pray for the world God loves, the church God calls, and all people in any need.

[Short pause]

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks for the promise of resurrection, assist us to look for opportunities to demonstrate resurrection. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks for the presence of the risen Christ in our congregation, move us to trust that presence outside these walls. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks for the forgiveness we have received, motivate us to share forgiveness where it is needed, wherever it is needed. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks that we can repent, that we can change direction, inspire us to allow others the same privilege.  God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks for the gift of your presence in the middle of our difficult times, remind us to be your healing hands for those who are isolated by addiction, homelessness, poverty, family violence, illness, or suffering that no one understands. We remember especially [NAMES, AND] all those we name before you.
[Long pause]
God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! As we give thanks for being able to gather here to celebrate your promise, send us out to extend the invitation to others. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

We pray all this in the name of our risen Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
Amen.
