Prayers of the People for the Fourth Sunday of Easter, 2015

Celebrating the mystery of new life in Christ, we pray for the world God loves, the church God calls, and all people in any need.

[Short pause]

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of all the deaths we face, remind us of your promise of life. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of all the needs which surround us, remind us of your living presence. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of the weakness and insignificance we feel, remind us of your promise of purpose. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of your church’s changing and challenging situation, remind us that you have gifted us with the ability to respond. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of poverty, violence, environmental degradation and self-serving governments and corporations, remind us that you are God. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of illness, anxiety, loneliness, and isolation, remind us of our Call to be your presence, especially for [NAMES, AND] all we name before you.
[Long pause]
God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

God who brings new life, Hallelujah! In the face of all the deaths we face, remind us of your promise of life. God of resurrection,
Hear our prayer.

We pray all this in the name of our risen Saviour, Jesus the Christ.
Amen.
