Prayers of the People for Holy Trinity Sunday, 2015

Filled with promise, and empowered by love, let us offer our prayers to God.

[Short pause]

Gracious God, you have shown yourself to us as a God of love, who acts in love, who is defined by love. Enable us to embrace this gift. God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Gracious God, you have reached out to us in love, and have welcomed us as part of your people, the church. Strengthen US to reach out. God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Gracious God, you have called us to live as your people, to reach beyond ourselves, to impact our world. Use us to point to your way. God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Gracious God, in the face of injustice, you cry out for justice. In the face of poverty, you cry out for generosity. In the face of death, you bring new life. Inspire us to share your commitment to an equitable world. God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Gracious God, nothing will separate us from your love: not illness, not violence, not addiction, not hunger, not selfishness, not loneliness, not death. Use us to touch those around us who need a reminder of your presence, especially [NAMES, AND] those we name before you.
[Long pause]
God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Gracious God, you call this congregation to grow against hopelessness, to struggle against apathy, to embrace the challenge of today, to learn your love, to show your compassion. Remind us that we ARE yours. God of our baptism,
May our life be our prayer.

Trusting in the promise of unbounded love, we pray in Jesus’ name.
Amen.
